Supported File Types and Limits

Clik supports all major video formats and works with files of various sizes depending on your upload method. Understanding these limits helps you plan your uploads and choose the best method for your footage.

Supported Video Formats

Clik accepts the following video file types:

  • MP4 (.mp4)

  • MOV (.mov)

  • AVI (.avi)

  • MPEG (.mpeg)

  • WebM (.webm)

  • OGG (.ogg)

  • MKV (.mkv)

  • HEIC and HEVC (common on iOS devices)

These formats cover virtually all cameras, phones, and screen recording software, so you shouldn't need to convert your footage before uploading.

File Size Limits by Upload Method

Different upload methods have different file size limits. All uploads support videos up to 1 hour in length.

Desktop Upload (Browse from files or drag-and-drop)

  • Maximum file size: 20 GB per file

  • Maximum video length: 1 hour

  • Best option, especially for longer files

Google Drive and Dropbox

  • Maximum file size: 2 GB per file

  • Maximum video length: 1 hour

Mobile Upload

  • Maximum file size: 20 GB per file (same as desktop)

  • Maximum video length: 1 hour

For files larger than 2 GB stored in cloud services, download them to your computer first and use the desktop upload method.

What Happens After Upload

Once uploaded, Clik processes your footage to create multiple quality versions. This allows smooth playback while editing, even with 4K source files. Your original high-quality file is always preserved and used when you export your final video.

The processing typically takes a few moments and happens automatically in the background. You'll see a progress indicator while your files are being prepared for editing.

Upload Tips

  • Use desktop upload for the largest files and fastest performance

  • Upload multiple files at once—Clik handles them one at a time automatically

  • Larger files take longer to upload and process, so WiFi or wired connections work best
